Psychological therapy
It can be very difficult to come to terms with and adapt to some of the changes involved in living with a neurological condition or a condition such a Covid-19. You may experience a number of losses (e.g. loss of independence, loss of physical abilities, etc), which will invariably have an effect on your confidence to cope with everyday life. Some of the most commonly reported emotional and behavioural difficulties can include feeling low or depressed, worried, anxious, frustrated or angry.
Supervision, teaching & consultancy
We can provide clinical supervision to neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists and other healthcare professionals such as case managers and occupational therapists on neuropsychological matters.
Neuropsychological assessment & rehabilitation
A neuropsychological assessment is a detailed evaluation of your memory, concentration, language and other cognitive skills. They are helpful if you have concerns that you or someone you know has cognitive difficulties by providing information about cognitive strengths and difficulties.
Medico-legal services
At Edinburgh Neuropsychology we are able to provide medico-legal reports for psychological and neuropsychological matters.
ADHD Assessments
We are able to provide cognitive assessments to aid a diagnosis of ADHD, or to help people to understand more about their cognitive abilities after they have been diagnosed. This can be helpful if you want to understand more about how your ADHD will affect you in the workplace, at university or at home, and what you can do to manage it.
Please note: a diagnosis of ADHD must be made by a Psychiatrist with experience in ADHD. To make sure our assessment is as helpful as possible, we ask for a short referral letter from your Psychiatrist, GP, Occupational Health department.

Dementia Assessment
We are able to provide neuropsychological assessments to aid a diagnosis of dementia. We can also assess your cognitive functioning after you have received a diagnosis, should you wish to understand more about your cognitive abilities and how you can manage any changes that you have noticed.
Please note that a diagnosis of dementia must be made by a suitably qualified medical professional such as a neurologist, Medicine of the Elderly (MOE) Consultant or a GP. They might ask for a neuropsychological assessment to help them make a diagnosis.
To make sure our assessment is as helpful as possible, we ask for a short referral letter from your neurologist, MOE Consultant or GP. If a diagnosis has been made, you can self-refer to our service for a neuropsychological assessment and report.
